The team were getting a bit fed up with trying to see over the congregations heads whilst trying to balance the sound and thus we have planned and commissioned a gallery at the rear of the main church.
Both sound and vision are controlled from here and the gallery is fitted out with equipment racks to take all the major items; amplifiers, radio mike receivers, loop amp, patch panels, CD players, recording equipment, etc.
The photo shows the trial fitting of the first rack
onto the wood skeleton. The wood
was chosen
carefully so as to blend in with the rest of the
wood that had been used
to build the pews, etc
back in the 1960’s when the church was built.
A local company,
Village Craftsman was chosen
to do the main woodwork and we were very
pleased with
the final product.
During the works we still needed to provide
‘business-as-usual’ as far as sound was
concerned, so in the background you can see
the portable kit in its flightcase which was wheeled
into place.

Welcome to this, the first of the teams articles on Hearsall’s InterWeb site!
